Hope Mills is a town in Cumberland County, served by Cumberland County Schools. About two-thirds of homes are lived in by their owners, so it’s mostly a place people buy and stay. The town is built around Hope Mills Lake, which refilled in 2018 after the dam was rebuilt.
Buying in Hope Mills
Families who want a smaller-town feel with a short drive to Fayetteville and post tend to land here. As with everywhere in the area, I check schools and flood maps by address, because both vary more than people expect.
Renting in Hope Mills
Fewer rentals than Fayetteville, which can work in an owner’s favor when a well-kept house comes on the market.
